A story of love,hope and sanity
A very movement letter from NST reader.It's really touching.Aku post kat sini supaya semua orang boleh baca.NOW and then, we read of good deeds done by friends, neighbours and sometimes strangers. I have a story that will move your heart.
This happened on May 17. A Form Five girl from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Yaacob Latif, known as Norsalwana, was walking to school along the usual route near Wisma PGRM in Jalan Cheras at 6.40am.
As she passed some bushes, she heard a cry and went to check. She found a bundle of clothes and in it was a newborn baby.
As there was no one to help, she picked up the baby and walked to the Cheras police station.
Along the way, she saw a wallet on the road in front of the Jaya Jusco building. She picked it up and when she reached the police station, handed over the baby and wallet.
The baby was sent to hospital by the police. The girl’s statement was recorded and she went to school.
The police came to the school the next day and spoke with the headmaster, Yunos Marullah. They commended her on her actions and gave her a letter of appreciation.
But the story does not end here. The girl asked the police about the baby and they told her that the baby was in Hospital HUKM. She wanted to see the child so they took her there.
On arrival, the hospital staff informed her that the baby died a day earlier.
Norsalwana cried uncontrollably. On May 22, the headmaster, at the morning assembly, called her up to inform the students. She repeated her story and cried.
This is not the end of it. The police traced the owner of the wallet. There was RM2,500 inside. The owner was so impressed with her honesty that he gave Norsalwana RM1,000. The girl refused to accept the money and asked that it be given to charity.
Teenagers such as these should be role models for their peers. The teachers should be commended for having such a student in their school.
When you put faith, hope and love together, you can raise positive children in a negative world.

Kudos to Norsalwana.Teringat aku iklan 'Belia Bina Bangsa.'Dia salah satu idola yang patut di jadikan contoh oleh remaja.Kisah dia akan aku ingat sampai bila-bila.I wish I can met her one day.Good luck in your life.
